Robert L. Hoover
Mr. Robert Hoover is a native Californian with firm roots in the Bay Area. He has been practicing family law since 1960 when he established his practice in what is now known as Silicon Valley.
Mr. Hoover served four years in the military during which time he was stationed in Mississippi as an Air Force Instructor. He attended both Mississippi Southern University and the University of Mississippi. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Hoover attended San Jose State University on the GI bill. He then attended Santa Clara University School of Law graduating with a LLB and a Juris Doctorate degree.
While attending Law School, Mr. Hoover was employed as a Deputy Sheriff, an experience which has given him many fond memories. Mr. Hoover was instrumental in establishing Family Law as a unique and important area of law practice. His efforts in working with the Family Law community resulted in the Judge Pro Temp system that is a fundamental part of the Santa Clara County Court. He has lectured extensively throughout California and has appeared on numerous panels and committees and has been profiled in several national publications. He has been quoted most recently in the Wall Street Journal and Lawyers Weekly, U.S.A. in April, 2006.
Mr. Hoover has completed 20 marathons including two which were 50 miles each. He has bicycled from Canada to Mexico and is an international kayaker. He has also been a technical mountain climber with an ascent route of class five and above. Mr. Hoover travels extensively and enjoys keeping current in all national and international events.
